A Resolution



Whereas, Mr. Darrell ?Tony? Floyd, Chief Deputy Tax Commissioner in the Tax

Commissioner?s Office, retired from the service of the Consolidated Government

on December 30, 2016;



Whereas, Mr. Floyd has given nineteen years in service to the citizens of

Columbus and officials of this government;



Whereas, he has worked to make the Tax Commissioner?s Office run in a smooth

and efficient manner;



Whereas, he has honored the deserving among us through his efforts;



Whereas, he served as liaison between the Tax Commissioner?s office and Ft.

Benning;



Whereas, he readily assisted fellow city employees with motor vehicle and

property tax related matters;



Whereas, he was a great leader, team member, and supervisor to all of his

employees;



Whereas, he helped the Tax Commissioner?s Office be awarded the Governor?s

Commendation Award in Customer Service by Governor Sonny Purdue;



Whereas, he oversaw the office transition from its former location at 100 10th

Street to its current location at 3111 Citizens Way;



Whereas, the service of Mr. Darrell ?Tony? Floyd is worthy of special

recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Darrell ?Tony? Floyd upon his retirement

from the Tax Commissioner?s office on December 30, 2016. Columbus deeply

appreciates his dedicated service to his team, our citizens, and all officials

of the Consolidated Government and we wish him every happiness in his

retirement. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Darrell ?Tony?

Floyd.
