Old Business

The Columbus State University?s new teaching facility will coordinate their

color scheme to match those at Bull Creek.

New Business

The transformer blew at Bull Creek and was repaired by Georgia Power. This

affected 27 holes and the clubhouse. The snack bar lost approximately $200

worth of food.

Superintendent Report by Steve Brown

Aerating the greens at Bull Creek and Oxbow Creek has been done. Steve Brown

spoke with Pat O?Brien, USGA?s Southeast Director of Green Section, and they

decided that Bull Creek?s greens only needed aeration once and that was done

several weeks ago. Oxbow Creek?s greens will need an additional aeration since

those greens have more organic matter. Steve will continue to dust the greens

as needed. Primo has been applied to the fairways, which cut down on the grass

clippings. The aprons will be fertilized after the first week in July. The

irrigation transfer pump has been repaired.

The State of Georgia has installed meters on all pump stations at Bull Creek

and Oxbow Creek.

Nancy Wilkeson asked Steve to please take a look at 4 and 7 West tee box area.

The trees in the ravine have grown ?too high? leaving the fairway hidden when

teeing off.

Godwin Creek

The First Tee held the Optimist Club Tournament on June 7th. Seventy-three

golfers participated in the free event. The First Tee has completed one of

five summer youth camps. Twenty-five kids participated in the first session.

Next camp began on June 23rd. Columbus State University golf players are the

instructors. The First Tee?s tournament team competed in the Southeastern

Regional Tournament; they did not retain the title. The regular Saturday

programming continues through the summer.

Director of Golf

Oxbow Creek?s revenue from May 2008 is the best May ever. Oxbow Creek offers

on Wednesday and before 10 am on Friday, 18 holes of golf with cart for $10.

With the closing of the Lakewood Golf Course in Phenix City the revenue there

has increased. So far, Oxbow Creek?s year-to-date losses are at $70,000 with

includes $10,00 for cost allocations. Bull Creek?s day-to-day operations are

approximate $26,000 higher than last year at the same time. Bull Creek?s

year-to-date profits are $32,667, plus cost allocations of $30,000 and $11,000

in debt services, which in actually equates to $73,000 profit.

Bull Creek has retired the general fund debt of $600,000. The $900,000 bond

has been paid down to $250,000 and will be retired in 2011. Oxbow Creek?s $1.3

million debt has been paid down to $750,000 and should be retired in 2017.

Donald Clack asked Mr. Milam if there was any feedback concerning the rate

increases that go into affect July 1st. Mr. Milam stated no.

On behalf of the Golf Authority Board and Mr. John Milam, Richard Hagler

sincerely thanked June Holder and Donald Clack for their dedication and work

serving on the board for many years. Mr. Milam announced that Rhudine Nelson

and Carl Williams would be their replacements.

Richard Hagler adjourned the meeting at 4:17 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Nancy Wilkeson, Acting Secretary
