Subject Public Agenda Proposed Options
Description Have the staff to provide further clarification with respect to the
rules that Albany City Council has whereby citizens cannot speak on a
particular subject no more than twice; let?s determine over what period of
time.
Also, with regards to Macon, Georgia?s rules where it states citizens can speak
once on any subject; let?s determine over what period of time if they wanted to
come back and speak on that same subject; when can they come back. (Request of
Councilor Hunter)
Regarding the placement of where the Public Agenda is located, let?s have the
staff to try to come up with a definitive time so the people who get on the
Public Agenda will know when they can expect to address the Council. (Request
of Councilor Henderson)

Response In Albany, once a citizen has spoken on a particular subject twice,
they cannot come back to speak on that subject again at all. If the subject is
brought up again, it has to be done by a different person. With respect to
Macon's rule, the Mayor has the discretion as to whether or not that subject
can be brought back up again after a citizen has spoken once on that subject.
