An Ordinance amending the Zoning Atlas of the Consolidated Government
of Columbus, Georgia; this amendment changes certain boundaries of a district
located at 839 Veterans Parkway, 308 9th Street, 842 and 844 3rd Avenue from
UPT (Uptown)/HIST (Historic) Zoning District to GC (General Commercial) Zoning
District.
THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:
That the Zoning Atlas on file with the Planning Department be, and the
same is hereby amended by changing the aforementioned properties from UPT
(Uptown)/HIST (Historic) Zoning District to GC (General Commercial) Zoning
District:
All that tract or parcel of land identified as Lots 1 & 2 and Part of Lot 3,
MALE ACADEMY SQUARE, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia and more particularly
described as follows: BEGIN at a p-k nail in concrete marking the intersection
of the southerly line of Ninth Street and the westerly line of Veterans
Parkway; thence South 02 degrees 49 minutes 30 seconds East, along the westerly
line of Veterans Parkway, 147.85 feet to an iron stake; thence leaving Veterans
Parkway, South 86 degrees 55 minutes 56 seconds West, 149.84 feet to a
calculated point; thence South 02 degrees 09 minutes 00 seconds East, 2.0 feet
to a drill hole in concrete; thence South 02 degrees 49 minutes 00 seconds
East, 50.0 feet to an iron stake; thence South 00 degrees 29 minutes 00 seconds
East, 22.20 feet to a p-k nail in concrete; thence South 01 degree 48 minutes
00 seconds East, 26.60 feet to a nail in the base of a 6 inch Sugarberry Tree;
thence South 87 degrees 11 minutes 00 seconds West, 147.53 feet to an iron
stake on the easterly line of Third Avenue; thence North 02 degrees 44 minutes
52 seconds West, along the easterly line of Third Avenue, 248.60 feet to a nail
in concrete marking the intersection of the easterly line of Third Avenue and
the southerly line of Ninth Street; thence North 87 degrees 03 minutes 07
seconds East, along the southerly line of Ninth Street, 298.45 feet to a p-k
nail in concrete at the point of beginning; containing 1.357 acres.
The above-described properties are being rezoned subject to the following
conditions:
1. Billboards shall not be allowed on this property.
2. Remove the street buffer requirement as set forth in Section 4.5.8 of the
Columbus Unified Development Ordinance.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia
held on the 11th day of June, 2013; introduced a second time at a regular
meeting of said Council held on the day of , 2013 and adopted at
