A RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, AFLAC, Inc. recently gave one million dollars to the Presidential

Commission working on a National Museum of African American History and Culture

in Washington, D.C.;



WHEREAS, the Museum will fill a gap in Washington area attractions and

has included support from both the public and private sectors;



WHEREAS, the Museum site will be located at ?Monument Site? bounded by

Constitution Avenue, Madison Drive, and 14th and 15th Streets;



WHEREAS, Aflac?s generosity to this important national project is worthy of

special recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend AFLAC for its generous contribution to the National Museum of

African American History and Culture to be located in Washington, D. C. Let a

copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Daniel P. Amos.
