A RESOLUTION
NO.
WHEREAS, Claimant Eddie Short has filed a claim for damages related to an
incident while he was a passenger on a Dial-A-Ride bus on February 25, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney and Risk Management have investigated this
claim and recommend settlement of thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000.00) in
exchange for a full release of all claims,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
We hereby authorize the City Manager, City Attorney, Finance Director
and their representatives to make payment of thirty-five thousand dollars
($35,000.00) to settle all damage claims of Eddie Short stemming from injuries
allegedly sustained on February 25, 2016, and to execute all appropriate
settlement documents to this effect.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia,
held the 30th day of May, 2017 and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative
