COUNCIL MEETING OF MAY 13, 2008
TO THE CITY ATTORNEY:
MERITORIOUS RESOLUTIONS:
Have the staff to prepare a resolution congratulating Eric Plump of
Hardaway
High School who won the State Championship in the 100-meter, as well as
finished third in the 200-meter in Track & Field. Also, a resolution
congratulating
Chris Jackson of Carver High School who won the Championship in the 200-
meter. (Request of Councilor Hunter)
Also, have the staff to prepare a resolution recognizing the Student Body
Presidents of the various high schools that we have in our community. (Request
of
Councilor Anthony)
Also, have the staff to prepare a resolution recognizing the Columbus High
Girl?s Soccer Team. (Request of Councilor Henderson)

TO THE CITY MANAGER:
TYPE ONE DAYCARE CENTERS:
Have the staff to check and see if an applicant of a Type One Day Care
Center has to apply for an in-home occupancy license and/or business license
with six or less children. Also, have the staff to consider including a clause
in the ordinance stating that the neighbors are notified of this type of
business going into the neighborhood. (Request of Mayor Pro Tem Turner Pugh)
Have the staff to also look at traffic concerns that might become a
problem with this type of business. (Request of Councilor Allen)

CONCERNS OF REV. WILLIAM HOWELL:
Have the staff to look into the concerns and allegations brought forth by
Rev.
William Howell that was presented to the Council with respect to the Muscogee
County Jail at the May 13, 2008 Council meeting. If there are any problems,
that
we address those problems individually. (Request of Councilor Hunter)
