A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, John Teeples, an ultra-marathon runner and contractor from Columbus,
recently ran from Columbus to Tybee Island, Georgia to raise funds and
awareness for the House of Heroes;
WHEREAS, he completed the 270-mile run in four days and raised $20,000 for this
worthy organization;
WHEREAS, with these funds, the House of Heroes will be able to repair nine
homes for veterans in the Columbus area;
WHEREAS, House of Heroes is a nonprofit organization providing minor repairs
and improvements to the homes of elderly or disabled military and public safety
veterans and their spouses at no cost;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of John Teeples are worthy of special recognition
by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate John Teeples, ultra-marathon runner and
contractor from Columbus, upon his cross-state run to benefit the House of
Heroes. His generosity serves as a shining example for all Columbus citizens.
Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to John Teeples.

9th day of June, 2009, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
