SUBJECT: Agenda - Proposed Street Name Change - Mutec Drive to Corporate
Ridge Parkway
INITIATED BY: Engineering Department
Recommendation: Approve the Ordinance changing Mutec Drive to Corporate
Ridge Parkway.
Background: The Engineering Department received a request from The
Development Authority of Columbus to change the name of Mutec Drive to
Corporate Ridge Parkway. Corporate Ridge Parkway will be the primary connector
roadway that serves Corporate Ridge Industrial Park. Mutec Drive was named
after a business, located in the industrial park, which has since closed.
Analysis: The Engineering Department sent out a petition to the fourteen (14)
property owners for their concurrence or opposition. The petition was received
back with signatures from thirteen (13) of the property owners, all which
concur with the name change. The Engineering Department sent out a survey to
the Property owner whose signature did not appear on the petition.
Financial Considerations: The Traffic Engineering Division will install new
street name signs to reflect the name change. The cost of these signs will come
from their operating budget.
Legal Considerations: Council must pass an Ordinance approving the name change.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Ordinance renaming Mutec Drive to
Corporate Ridge Parkway from Woodruff Farm Road to Schatulga Road.
