Improvements
At the direction of the City Manager, an assessment was conducted of the
pedestrian walkway between the Government Center tower and the East/West
wings. The assessment was conducted, in part, due to the increased pedestrian
traffic resulting from closure of the East Wing public entrance. Several
improvements were identified to improve public awareness and safety on the
route between the buildings. City staff is in the process of implementing the
proposed improvements identified in the assessment. Listed below is a summary
of the improvements and estimated time for completion.
Actions Completed
Repaint yellow/black curbing along pedestrian walkway.
Install "Watch Your Step" signs in both directions at all curbs.
Additional Actions to be Completed within 30-45 Days
Install new handicap ramps along route to make a more direct travel path for
pedestrians.
Install a painted directional path to direct visitors between the buildings.
