SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Lantern Court and that portion of Lantern

Lane

located in Section One, Meadow Creek



INITIATED BY: Engineering Department







Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Lantern

Court and that portion of Lantern Lane located in Section One, Meadow Creek.



Background: Lantern Court and that portion of Lantern Lane located in Section

One, Meadow Creek has (17) Seventeen residential lots. The streets have been

improved and meet the required specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Lantern Court and

that portion of Lantern Lane located in Section One, Meadow Creek. A

description of property is as follows: All those lots, tracts and parcels of

land situate, lying and being in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia and being

known and designated as "Lantern Lane" and "Lantern Court", as said parcels are

shown upon a map or plat entitled "Section One, Meadow Creek Subdivision",

dated 22, June, 2011, made by Moon, Meeks, Mason & Vinson, Inc., civil

engineers, and recorded in Plat Book 163, page 71 in the Office of the Clerk of

the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until

maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to Lantern

Court and that portion of Lantern Lane located in Section One, Meadow Creek.



















A RESOLUTION

NO. _____

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO LANTERN COURT AND THAT

PORTION OF LANTERN LANE LOCATED IN SECTION ONE, MEADOW CREEK ON BEHALF OF

COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Lantern Court

and that portion of Lantern Lane located in Section One, Meadow Creek, a full

description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications

for acceptance by City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated June 30, 2011, conveying Columbus, Georgia

Lantern Court and that portion of Lantern Lane located in Section One, Meadow

Creek be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby

authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the

Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of deed is hereto attached

and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
