RESOLUTION
NO.
WHEREAS, Jerry R. Griffin is retiring as Executive Director of the Association
County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG), where he has provided strong and
enlightened leadership on critical issues facing the state and its citizens;
WHEREAS, his career with the Association County Commissioners of Georgia
spanned 24 years during which time he managed and oversaw the day-to-day
operations of the Association;
WHEREAS, Jerry Griffin, a native of Spalding County, was the first full-time
executive director of the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority and
previously served as a valued assistant to the commissioner of the Georgia
Department of Community Affairs and as intergovernmental relations director for
the Georgia Municipal Association;
WHEREAS, for over 40 years, Jerry R. Griffin has been recognized as a dedicated
and enthusiastic leader who has made it his personal mission to sustain and
enhance the role, stature, responsiveness, and professionalism of local
government in Georgia;
WHEREAS, he has announced his retirement from the Association County
Commissioners of Georgia effective April 30, 2010, and it is abundantly fitting
and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and
distinguished Georgian be recognized appropriately.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby congratulate Jerry Griffin for his dedication as Executive Director
of the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG). Columbus is proud of
his accomplishments and we wish him every success in the future. Let a copy of
this resolution be forwarded to Jerry Griffin.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
11th day of May, 2010, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
