RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCES:



Have the staff to prepare a resolution of condolences for the family of

those

four soldiers (one from our area) who recently lost their lives during the war

in Iraq. (Request of Councilor Anthony)

MERITORIOUS RESOLUTIONS:



Have the staff to prepare a resolution honoring Mr. Bob Huff for the

things that he has done for our community, as well as being named the Georgia

Nursing Home Association Volunteer of the Year. Also, prepare a resolution

honoring Mr. Don Avery and Hughston Clinic who were recently named in the

Georgia Trend Magazine as one of the Best Places to Work for in Georgia.

RECORDER?S COURT:



Have the staff to check with the Health Department and see if there is a

requirement or procedure of disinfecting commonly used shoes or other

equipment. Also, if there is a requirement, we might need to go and check those

cameras to see if it shows whether or not they are spraying the shoes. Let?s

also check and see if those cameras are operational. Also, have the staff to

ask questions and check into whether or not people are mistakenly paying fines

when they think they are appealing a case. (Request of Councilor Henderson)



Have the staff to look and see what administrative procedures are in place

to apprise a person who is charged and what their rights are with respect to an

appeal. (Request of Councilor Hunter)

TO THE CITY MANAGER:



PUBLIC DEFENDER?S OFFICE:



Have the staff to provide a written report from the Public Defender?s

office

with a list of the number of inmates that are in our jail and how long they

have

been in there and how long has it been since they have had a court appointed

attorney or public defender and whether or not they have been before a judge

for a

trial or hearing. Also, let?s make sure that we invite the Public Defender to

attend

our Legislative luncheon when we meet with our Legislators. (Request of Mayor

Pro Tem Turner Pugh)

FEMA FLOOD MAP UPDATE:



Have the staff to put on our Legislative delegation list for us to talk

with our

Legislators about DNR trying to move quickly and do all these Limited Detail

Studies. Let?s inform them of the fiscal impact that it is going to have on our

city,

as well as the impact it has on the citizens in their rush to get this study

done.

Let?s request them to slow down, take their time and budget the money and

conduct the studies over a period of time. (Request of Councilor Allen)
