A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, Junie Christian, Executive Director of Columbus Family Connection, is
leaving from his position at from the consolidated government after 11 years of
service;
WHEREAS, he was born in St. John?s, Antigua, West Indies and
served in the United States Army from 1972 until 1996;
WHEREAS, he became a United States citizen in 1991 and worked with the Urban
League of Greater Columbus from 1996-1999;
WHEREAS, he became Executive Director of the Columbus Children Youth and Family
Coalition (Columbus Family Connection) in 1999;
Whereas, Columbus Family Connection has been actively involved with the
Prosperity Building Initiative, Our House Children?s Home, VITA free income tax
preparation, and Columbus Partnership for Protecting Children;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Junie Christian, Executive Director of Columbus
Family Connection, are worthy of special recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate Junie Christian upon his service as
Executive Director of Columbus Family Connection. Columbus is proud of his
service to his country and to this community and we wish him every success in
the future. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Junie Christian.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
8th day of June, 2010, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
