SUBJECT: Columbus Burn ? Lease Agreement



INITIATED BY: Columbus Civic Center





Recommendation: Approval is requested to enter into a five-year Lease

Agreement with Burn Entertainment, LLC d/b/a Columbus Burn Hockey Team.



Background: Fidel Jenkins, Burn Entertainment, LLC is chairman and president

of Residential World Media Inc., a New York-based real-estate broker company,

founded in 2008.



Analysis: The Columbus Burn Hockey Team plays a minimum of twenty-eight (28)

home games between October and April. The games provide additional revenue for

the Columbus Civic Center.



Financial Considerations: The Columbus Burn will pay $3,000 in rent for each

home game plus other financial considerations as outlined in the lease

agreement.



Legal Considerations: Any multi-year lease agreement involving this City

requires Council approval.



Recommended /Actions: Approval is requested to enter into a five-year Lease

Agreement with Burn Entertainment, LLC d/b/a Columbus Burn Hockey Team.











A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FIVE-YEAR CONTRACT

BETWEEN THE COLUMBUS CIVIC CENTER AND BURN ENTERTAINMENT, LLC.



WHEREAS, Burn Entertainment, LLC has agreed to provide Professional Hockey at

the Columbus Civic Center; and,



WHEREAS, Burn Entertainment, LLC and the Columbus Civic Center shall uphold the

recommended contract.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:



That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a five-year contract

between the Columbus Civic Center and Burn Entertainment, LLC.
