AN ORDINANCE

An Ordinance amending Article XI of Chapter 2 of the Columbus Code so as to
redefine the position of executive director of the Keep Columbus Beautiful
Commission so as to make it a position of Division Chief in the Department of
Public Works; and for other purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Section 2-134 of the Columbus Code is hereby repealed and replaced by a
new section 2-134 of the Columbus Code to read as follows:
?Sec. 2-134. Executive director; powers.
The Director of the Department of Public Works in consultation with the
commission shall employ a full-time salaried executive director of the
commission who shall be a full time City employee of the Department of Public
Works at the level of Division Chief. The executive director shall be delegated
the authority and responsibility necessary to properly administer the business
of the commission, within policies set by the commission and approved by the
Public Works Director. The Executive Director shall supervise any additional
City staff assigned to his or her Division in accordance with the policies and
procedures applicable to City employees. The executive director and any City
staff assigned to the commission shall be furnished city offices. Nothing
contained herein shall prevent the commission from employing contractors to
carry out special projects subject only to policies and procedures established
by the commission and to the limitations of the commission's budget.?
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective on July 1, 2014.
SECTION 3.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
