A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, Retired Master Sgt. Debra Everett recently received the Muscogee
County School District 2010 Teacher of the Year Award;
WHEREAS, Ms. Everett, JROTC instructor at Spencer High School, is the first
Army JROTC instructor to win the award;
WHEREAS, Ms. Everett was chosen from 61 honorees by a selection committee from
the Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation;
WHEREAS, she has a Bachelor?s of Applied Science degree from Troy University
and an Associate?s degree in Applied Science from Chattahoochee Valley
Community College;
WHEREAS, Ms. Everett has taught at Spencer High School since 2002 and has shown
compassion and willingness to know her students individually;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Retired Master Sgt. Debra Everett are worthy of
special recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate Retired Master Sgt. Debra Everett upon being
named the 2010 Muscogee County School District Teacher of the Year. Columbus is
proud of her accomplishments and we wish her every success in the future. Let a
copy of this resolution be forwarded to Retired Master Sgt. Debra Everett.
