SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - That portion of Double Pines
located in Section Thirteen, Garrett Pines
INITIATED BY: Engineering Department
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of that portion of
Double Pine Court located in Section Thirteen, Garrett Pines.
Background: That portion of Double Pine Court located in Section Thirteen,
Garret Pines has (10) ten residential lots. The street has been improved and
meets the required specifications for acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of
Double Pine Court located in Section Thirteen, Garrett Pines. A description of
property is as follows: That certain tract or parcel of land designated as
Double Pine Court, as shown on that certain map or plat of survey entitled
"Final Plat, Section Thirteen, Garrett Pines, Part of Land Lot 159, 9th
District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia" as prepared by Hobbs Smith &
Assoc., Inc., dated August 21, 2017, and recorded in Plat Book 165, Folio 177,
in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.
Financial Considerations: No City Funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City Funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.
Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all
dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approval is requested accepting a deed to that
portion of Double Pine Court located in Section Thirteen, Garrett Pines.
A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF DOUBLE
PINE COURT LOCATED IN SECTION THIRTEEN, GARRETT PINES ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS,
GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of
Double Pine Court located in Section Thirteen, Garrett Pines, a full
description of property on said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications
for acceptance by the City; and,
WHEREAS, Engineering Department has inspected said street and recommends
acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated November 21, 2017, conveying Columbus, Georgia that
portion of Double Pine Court located in Section Thirteen, Garrett Pines be and
the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have
said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Superior Court of
Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of the deed is hereto attached and by this
reference made a part of this resolution.
