Agenda Report # 85

TO: Mayor and Council

SUBJECT: Contract between CCG and Board of Regents of the University

System of Georgia

INITIATED BY: Cooperative Extension

Recommendation: Approval is requested to have the Board of Regents of the

University System of Georgia on behalf of University of Georgia Cooperative

Extension Service and Columbus Consolidated Government City Council to enter

into a contract.

Background: Employees of Cooperative Extension have the option to choose

Teacher?s Retirement or to have an Optional Retirement Plan (ORP).

Analysis: Anne Randle has chosen the Optional Retirement Plan.

Financial Considerations: There will not be any change in the amount funded by

the City. The ORP Retirement is 9.24% which is less than Teacher?s Retirement

of 11.27%. Therefore, this will be a cost-savings. The contract is for

salary, ORP Retirement and SS/Med cost only.

51940 FICA OASDI (Soc Sec) 6.2% 806

51971 ORP Retirement 9.24% 1,202

*Total Salary & Benefit $ 15,205

New prorated total

Legal Considerations: Any contract involving the City requires Council approval.

Recommendations/Actions: Approval is requested for the city to enter into

contract with the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia on

behalf of University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service for February 1,
