MEMORANDUM

Administrators, Managers, Clerks

From: Ross King, Executive Director

Date: September 23, 2010

Re: 2011-2012 Draft County Platform

Attached is a copy of the 2011-2012 Draft County Platform as approved by the

Association County Commissioners of Georgia Policy Council on September 20. We

are providing the draft platform so that you will have an opportunity to review

it prior to the ACCG Legislative Leadership Conference (formerly the Fall

Policy Conference) scheduled for October 4 ? 5 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis

Hotel in Atlanta / Fulton County.

While the draft platform is being emailed, we do request that county clerks or

administrators provide their respective county commissioners with copies of

this document prior to the Legislative Leadership Conference.

Each of the six policy committee reports is divided into four categories.

These categories consist of brand new language, existing language that has been

amended, deleted language, and unchanged language. Furthermore, each policy is

identified by a letter. This has been done solely for reference purposes and

in no way indicates any ranking of the policies. Questions regarding the

contents should be directed to the appropriate ACCG committee staff member by

calling (404) 522-5022 or (800) 858-2224.

During the General Business Session on Monday afternoon, October 4, ACCG First

Vice-President Melvin Davis will present the 2011-2012 Draft County Platform to

the ACCG membership for adoption. Each individual committee report will be

voted on by the membership.

We look forward to seeing you at the Legislative Leadership Conference. The

conference agenda has been redesigned to provide more opportunities for

training and Standard of Excellence programs. Additionally, ACCG has shortened

the conference to reduce travel expenses and maximize the use of your time.
