SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - That portion of Townes Way located
in Section Three, The Townes at Sonoma Pointe
INITIATED BY: Engineering
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to
that portion of Townes Way located in Section Three, The Townes at Sonoma
Pointe.
Background: That portion of Townes Way located in Section Three, The
Townes at Sonoma Pointe has Sixteen (16) residential lots. The street has been
improved and meets the specifications for acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of
Townes Way located in Section Three, The Townes at Sonoma Pointe. A description
of property is as follows: That certain tract or parcel of land designated as,
and which is the extension of, Townes Way, which commences at a point lying
north of the iron pin located at the northeast corner of Lot 27, Section Three,
The Townes at Sonoma Pointe, lying in Land Lot 31, 9th District, Columbus,
Muscogee County, Georgia and running thence in a southwesterly direction to the
end of said Townes Way, as shown on that certain map or plat of survey entitled
"Section Three, The Townes at Sonoma Pointe, Part of Land Lot 31, 9th District,
Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia's prepared by Hobbs Smith & Assoc., Inc.,
dated January 15, 2015, and recorded in Plat Book 164, Page 206, in the Office
of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County.
Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.
Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,
all dedicated right of way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the acceptance of that portion of Townes Way
located in Section Three, The Townes at Sonoma Pointe.
A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF TOWNES WAY
LOCATED IN SECTION THREE, THE TOWNES OF SONOMA POINTE ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS,
GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of
Townes Way located in Section Three, The Townes of Sonoma Pointe, a full
description specifications for acceptance of same; and,
WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications
for acceptance of same; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said street and recommends
acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated March 27, 2015, conveying to Columbus, Georgia, that
portion of Townes Way located in Section Three, The Townes of Sonoma Pointe,
and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to
have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of
Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy is hereto attached and by
this reference made a part of this resolution.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held
