SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - that portion of Double Pine Drive, that

portion of Hollow Pine Drive, that portion of Pine Seed Drive and that

portion of Lonesome Pine Drive located in Section VIII, Garrett Pines.



INITIATED BY: Engineering







Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to that

portion of Double Pine Drive, that portion of Hollow Pine Drive, that portion

of Pine Seed Drive and that portion of Lonesome Pine Drive located in Section

VIII, Garrett Pines.



Background: That portion of Double Pine Drive, that portion of Hollow Pine

Drive, that portion of Pine Seed Drive and that portion of Lonesome Pine Drive

located in Section VIII, Garrett Pines has (42) forty-two residential lots. The

streets have been improved and meet the required specifications for acceptance

by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of

Double Pine Drive, that portion of Hollow Pine Drive, that portion of Pine Seed

Drive and that portion of Lonesome Pine Drive located in Section VIII, Garrett

Pines. A description of property is as follows: All those lots, tracts and

parcels of land lying and being in Land Lot 130 & 159 of the 9th District,

Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and shown as all of Double Pine Drive,

Hollow Pine Drive and that portion of Pine Seed Drive and Lonesome Pine Drive

extending into Section Eight, Garrett Pines, as said roads and right-of-way are

shown on the map or plat entitled "Section Eight, Garrett Pines, Part of Land

Lot 130 & 159, 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia" prepared by

Hobbs Smith & Assoc., dated March 29, 2007, said recorded in Plat Book 159,

pages 118-119, in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee

County, Georgia.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to that

portion of Double Pine Drive, that portion of Hollow Pine Drive, that portion

of Pine Seed Drive and that portion of Lonesome Pine Drive located in Section

VIII, Garrett Pines.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF DOUBLE

PINE DRIVE, THAT PORTION OF HOLLOW PINE DRIVE, THAT PORTION OF PINE SEED DRIVE

AND THAT PORTION OF LONESOME PINE DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTION VIII, GARRETT PINES

ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of

Double Pine Drive, that portion of Hollow Pine Drive, that portion of Pine Seed

Drive and that portion of Lonesome Pine Drive located in Section VIII, Garrett

Pines, a full description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meets the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated July 13, 2010, conveying Columbus, Georgia that

portion of Double Pine Drive, that portion of Hollow Pine Drive, that portion

of Pine Seed Drive and that portion of Lonesome Pine Drive located in Section

VIII, Garrett Pines be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is

hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office

of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of the deed is hereto

attached and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
