AN ORDINANCE

An ordinance authorizing the establishment of the Class Title Police Corporal
and deleting the titles of Police Technician and Police Detective in the
Columbus Consolidated Government Position Classification Plan.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
That the Human Resources Department is hereby authorized to establish the new
Class Title of Police Corporal and to delete the titles of Police Technician
and Police Detective in the Columbus Consolidated Government Position
Classification Plan.
SECTION 2
The new Class Title of Police Corporal will replace the Class Titles of Police
Technician and Police Detective, retaining the pay grade of 16 within the
Columbus Consolidated Government Position Classification and Compensation
Plan.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon adoption by Columbus Council.
SECTION 4.
All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held on
the 20th day of March, 2007; introduced a second time at a regular meeting of
