The terms of office of Mr. Ralph Huling, Mr. Paul Todd, and Ms. Cathy
Walker on the Hospital Authority will expire on November 14, 2009. The term of
office of the late Mr. Franklyn Lambert was also scheduled to expire on
November 14, 2009.
All three incumbents are eligible to succeed themselves for another term
of office. A nominee is also needed for someone to fill the seat of the late
Franklyn Lambert.
The Council nominates three individuals for each vacancy and the Authority
itself, will then select its members from the list of nominees.
There are two (2) women currently serving on this board.
Enclosed is a copy of our data sheet, as well as a list of the current
members.

CREATED BY: County Commissioner?s resolution of November 14, 1967 declaring a
need for the authority and appointing its original members. (Pursuant to the
provisions of the Georgia Hospital Authorities Law, O. C.C.G.A., Section
31-7-72).

COMPOSITION OF BOARD: Board has eleven members. (O.C.G.A., Sec 31-7-72 (a).
The authority has had nine members, in the past, for several years.
QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERS: Shall be residents and qualified registered voter
of Columbus, Georgia (Col. Code, Sec. 2-3.02)
MEMBERS APPOINTED BY: For each vacancy, the Columbus Council submits a list of
three eligible persons to the Hospital Authority of Columbus. From this list,
the Authority selects one of the individuals to fill the vacancy (O.C.G.A.,
Sec. 31-7-72 (b) (1) through (3)
TERMS OF OFFICE: Staggered terms as specified by resolution of the Columbus
Council. For the past several years, members have been appointed to three-year
