SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Catkin Commons and that portion

of Shagbark Lane located in Section One, Hickory Grove



INITIATED BY: Engineering Department





Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Catkin

Commons and that portion of Shagbark Lane located in Section One, Hickory Grove.



Background: Catkin Commons and that portion of Shagbark Lane located in

Section One, Hickory Grove has twenty-three (23) residential lots. The streets

have been improved and have met the specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Catkin Commons and

that portion of Shagbark Lane located in Section One, Hickory Grove. A

description of the property is as follows: All those tracts and parcels of

land situate, lying and being in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and being

shown and designated as and comprising all of Catkin Commons and Shagbark Lane

as said streets are shown upon that certain map or plat thereof entitled

"Section One, Hickory Grove, Lying in Land Lot 93, 9th District, Columbus,

Muscogee County, Georgia," dated September 27, 2012, prepared by Moon, Meeks,

Mason & Vinson, Inc., and recorded in Plat Book 163, Folio 253 in the office of

the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia, to which a map or

plat reference is hereby made for a more particular description of the streets

conveyed hereby.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until

maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the resolution accepting a deed to Catkin

Commons and that portion of Shagbark Lane located in Section One, Hickory Grove.





























A RESOLUTION

NO. _____

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO CATKIN COMMONS AND THAT

PORTION OF SHAGBARK LANE LOCATED IN SECTION ONE, HICKORY GROVE ON BEHALF OF

COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Catkin Commons

and that portion of Shagbark Lane located in Section One, Hickory Grove, a full

description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meets the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated October 31, 2012 conveying to Columbus, Georgia

the Catkin Commons and that portion of Shagbark Lane located in Section One,

Hickory Grove, be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is

hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office

of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of deed is hereto

attached and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
