An ordinance prohibiting payment of ?gap time? between authorized minimum
scheduled work hours and the threshold number of hours for overtime payment
required under the Fair Labor Standards Act; and for other purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Effective July 1, 2014, no payment in addition to base salary shall be
made for any hours worked below the threshold number of hours for overtime
payment required under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Such thresholds for
overtime payment are shown on the attached chart.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall not affect supplemental payments to firefighters
or law enforcement personnel for education advancement, OLOST supplements,
court appearance pay, or similar supplements provided by separate ordinance or
administrative procedure.
SECTION 3.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance
are hereby repealed.
