Subject Wal=Mart Store on Buena Vista Road
Description Have the staff to check and see what?s the status of the
renovations of the Wal-mart store on Buena Vista Road and determine the
timeframe for completion. Also, make contact with Mr. Ben Billings as it
relates to finding a location for a Wal-mart store in South Columbus. (Request
of Councilor Suber)

Response 04/13/06 - I spoke to Glen Wilkins of Wal Mart. The store on Buena
Vista is being refurbished. New paint, carpeting, tiles, etc., including new
paint scheme for the facade. New signage is also planned for the building.
According to Mr. Wilkins, they should be completed by the end of this month.
He also indicated that they are still looking for a new store site in this
area. As for the store in the Columbus South area, Mr. Billings does not own
any property, nor is he a developer of such stores. Staff has been in contact
with representatives of Wal Mart to provide requested development data on this
area.
