A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, George Corradino is retiring after 20 years as conductor and music
director of the Bob Barr Community Band;
WHEREAS, Mr. Corradino has been entertained thousands of Columbus citizens
through the years as director of the Bob Barr Community Band and the locally
famous ?Notables? and ?The Cavaliers?;
WHEREAS, the Bob Barr Community Band was formed in 1988 as a memorial tribute
to Robert M. Barr, conductor of the Jordan High School Band from 1946-1963;
WHEREAS, more than 350 people have played with the band since its inception and
it contains more than 50 active members today;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Mr. George Corradino are worthy of special
recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate Mr. George Corradino upon his retirement as
conductor and music director of the Bob Barr Community Band. Columbus is truly
proud of his achievements and we will be forever grateful for his contributions
to music in the Columbus community. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded
to Mr. George Corradino.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
25th day of August, 2009, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
