TO THE CITY ATTORNEY:



MERITORIOUS RESOLUTIONS:



Have the staff to prepare a resolution commending the City Manager and his

staff for the great job that was done during the recent storms and rains that

occurred during the months of February & March. (Request of

Councilor McDaniel)



Have the staff to prepare a resolution commending Chef Lee?s Restaurant

for

being named as one of the 100 Top Restaurants in the United States. (Request of

Councilor Woodson)

TO THE CITY MANAGER:



FLOODING ISSUES:



Have the staff to look at doing an educational segment on CCG-TV to

provide

information to the citizens of how they can assist the government to prevent

flooding of the various areas where we have experienced problems in the city.

MEETING WITH STATE DELEGATION:



Have the staff to set up a meeting with our State Delegation to

specifically discuss issues and concerns with respect to flooding of State

waterways and the inability to do anything with those waterways in our city.

Also, let?s make sure that the State Delegation receives a copy of today?s

Council meeting so they will know where our concerns lie. (Request of Mayor Pro

Tem Turner Pugh)

STATE WATERWAYS:



Have the staff to contact GMA and ask them to contact several other cities

throughout the State to determine if there are other cities that may have

similar

complaints with respect to State waterways. (Request of Councilor Woodson)



Also, check with the National League of Cities to determine if there are

any

grant funding available to assist homeowners in these type of situations, as

well as

check with FEMA. Have the staff to also contact the National league of Cities

to

see if there are any communities who have had the same issues we are

experiencing at this present time. (Request of Mayor Pro Tem Turner Pugh)

SEWERAGE OVERFLOW:



Have the staff to provide a report on the number of calls we have received

regarding sewerage overflow since we have had a number of problems with the

flooding. (Request of Councilor Davis)

CCG-TV:



Have the staff to scroll the after hours emergency telephone number for the

Columbus Water Works on CCG-TV. (Request of Councilor Hunter)
