Fort Benning Road Streetscape Update

Transportation Update

Parks/Rec Needs Assessment

Huff - Will there be an update on the Fort Benning Road Streetscape especially

since they are finishing up Spencer High School?

Sports Council Update

Davis ? I believe a few back I asked for a report and a complete update on

Parks and Recreation and you were working on that report. This is something I

see needs to be addressed soon. Some of this stuff we may be able to do some

pressure washing and that may or may not make a difference.

Huff ? There are things we need to do to make these facilities better. We need

to move now so we can keep what we have.

Thomas ? I want to encourage the sports council and parks and recreation, we

need to toot our horn more than we are. We have people in Columbus that does

not know what is going on. We don?t do enough with the local media to let

people know the events taken place.

The other thing, I would ask the CM and Finance, this is not something we can

put off until 3 or 4 years from now. We have some opportunities with the

infrastructure from the OLOST to do some of the kinds of things that we are

talking about here. I mention something about the TSPLOST money, but there may

be some projects that we are doing now using OLOST money that we can shift to

the TSPLOST money to free up some of that. I know that we have taken a long

term look at some of that money. Maybe its time for us to take another look.

I would request that maybe not a recommendation but at least a look at here are

some things we could do especially since we are moving into the budget

process.

CM - We are scheduled to bring 2nd Tuesday in January the transportation

update. We will talk about resurfacing and I have already asked staff to bring

the update that would include resurfacing and the TSPLOST and that maybe a good

time to have the conversation about the various categories.

And also, DCM Goodwin over the last year have been looking at our parks and

doing a needs assessment. That document has been finalized and we will be

bringing that back early in the new year. We will be addressing things like

the softball fields, golden park, lake bottom, cooper creek tennis center. So

all of that is included in that assessment. The small things that we can go

and do some minor things, we can do those things. I also fail to mention that

the Riverwalk is included in the needs assessment.

Mayor Pro Tem ? I noticed you didn?t mention Carver Park but I hope you have

looked at Carver Park.
