REFERRALS FROM MAYOR & COUNCIL
COUNCIL MEETING OF APRIL 29, 2008
TO THE CITY ATTORNEY:
MERITORIOUS RESOLUTIONS:
Have the staff to prepare a resolution honoring our Police Department as
they
have once again gone through the re-accreditation process and have passed it;
as
the department has shown extraordinary steps to demonstrate professional
excellence and provide quality law enforcement to the citizens. (Request of
Councilor Davis)

TO THE CITY MANAGER:
CITIZEN?S REVIEW BOARD:
Have the staff to check and see if we have any cities that have had a
Citizens Review Board and decided to go back to something else rather than that
board.
(Request of Councilor Anthony)
Also, have the staff to have discussions with the Marshal, as well as the
Sheriff, as to whether or not their office would be interested in coming under
a Citizen?s Review Board, if one is created here in Columbus. (Request of Mayor
Pro Tem Turner Pugh)

CONCERNS OF DR. JIM THORSEN:
Have the staff to follow-up on those concerns expressed by Dr. James
Thorsen with respect to the Uptown Concert Series and other events held in
Uptown Columbus. (Request of Councilor Henderson)
Have the staff to look at putting some provision in the ordinance that
would allow the Uptown Concert Series to go beyond the 10:00 p.m. timeframe, so
that there won?t be any violation of the ordinance. (Request of Mayor Pro Tem
Turner Pugh)
Have the Administration to consider having someone from the City down at
these events to determine if any of the city ordinances are being violated.
(Request of Councilor McDaniel)
