SUBJECT: Lease Agreement ? 450 Brennan Road
INITIATED BY: Laura McCool, Community Reinvestment Division Manager
Recommendation: Approve the attached Resolution authorizing the City Manager
to enter a lease agreement with Reggie Automotive to lease the building at 450
Brennan Road for $308 per month for a period of one (1) year. (See Lease and
Attachments).
Background: The City owns the property located at 450 Brennan Road which was
acquired in 2009. It has been leased for many years by E-Man Trucking, but the
business vacated the building in May 2015. On July 25, 2015, we received an
application from Reginald Worrell, owner of Reggie Automotive, asking to lease
the building for a mechanic shop.
The City Inspections and Codes Department conducted an inspection of the
building and found it to be in compliance since it has only been vacant for
four months.
Analysis: The building currently sits vacant and having a tenant will reduce
liability on the City. The rent will be $308 per month and all maintenance will
be completed by the tenant. The tenant will also be responsible for maintaining
insurance.
Financial Considerations: The City will collect $308 per month in rental
revenues and the costs for maintaining the property will be reduced since the
tenant will be responsible for all maintenance.
Legal Considerations: Any lease agreement involving City property requires
Council approval.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution authorizing the City
Manager to enter a Lease agreement with Reggie Automotive to lease the building
at 450 Brennan Road for $308 per month for a period of one (1) year.

NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH
REGGIE AUTOMOTIVE TO LEASE THE BUILDING AT 450 BRENNAN ROAD FOR $308 PER MONTH.
WHEREAS, the Reggie Automotive is in need a building to lease for a mechanic
shop; and,
WHEREAS, the City owns the building located at 450 Brennan Road which is
currently vacant and in need of a tenant; and,
WHEREAS, the City will charge the tenant $308 per month for a period of one (1)
year and the tenant will be responsible for all maintenance costs and maintain
required insurance on the premises.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a lease agreement with
the Reggie Automotive to lease the building located at 450 Brennan Road for
$308 per month for a period of one (1) year.
