A Resolution Authorizing AND DECLARING PROPERTY IDENTIFIED BETWEEN WYNNTON RD. AND 13TH STREET AS
SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZE THE SELL OF 29,900.75 +/- SQ FT IN COLUMBUS, MUSCOGEE
COUNTY, GEORGIA AND RESERVE THE RIGHT TO BUY BACK 4,580 +/- SQ FT (MAPS
ATTACHED HERETO ARE MADE A PART HEREOF). whereas, In 1977 a formal Agreement was entered into for the City of Columbus to reserve
29,900.75 sq. ft. for use as a road widening project; and,
whereas, it was agreed that the Owner of the adjacent property could purchase any of the
29,900.75 sq ft that was not needed for road widening at a pre determined price
of $4.00 a square foot; and,
WHEREAS, it is mutually agreed upon by the parties that the property is not
needed for road widening purposes at this time; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Consolidated Government of Columbus
Georgia to sell said property for the amount of $119,603.00.
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus Georgia reserves the right to buy back those
parcels identified as Parcel I and II on the attached map for a pre determined
price of $4.00 per sq ft should the property be needed in the future for
re-alignment of the intersection.
I.
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to declare 29,900.75 sq. ft. +/- property located between Wynnton Road and 13th Street as surplus and sell said property to the adjacent property owner at a predetermined price of $4.00 per sq. ft.; and,
II.
Authorize to reserve the right to buy back parcels identified as "Parcels I and
II" on the attached map being 4,580.53sq. ft. +/- for a predetermined price of
$4.00 per sq. ft. said "Buy Back" provision shall run with the land.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held the _______________ day of ________________ and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of members of said Council.
