A Resolution Authorizing A VARIANCE TO CITY CODE SECTION 22-32(A) (6) (a) TO ALLOW SEVEN FOOT FLARES

USING A D.O.T. STANDARD 6050 DRIVEWAY IN LIEU OF 15 FOOT RADII AND ALLOW THE

MINIMUM DISTANCE BETWEEN THE DRIVEWAY RADIUS AND ADJACENT INTERSECTION RADIUS

TO BE TEN FEET IN LIEU OF THE REQUIRED TWENTY FEET; AUTHORIZING THE TRAFFIC

ENGINEER TO ISSUE A COMMERCIAL PERMIT TO 1951 - 8TH AVENUE WITH SAID VARIANCES. whereas, Columbus Regional Healthcare is constructing a parking lot at 1951 - 8th Avenue

which is at the southwest corner of 8th Avenue and Talbotton Road, and,
whereas, the existing driveway is being widened to twenty feet in width to meet

commercial requirements; and,
WHEREAS, the Traffic Engineer has investigated the requests and recommends the

variances be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the Traffic Engineering is hereby authorized to allow a variance

to City Code Section 22-32(A) (6) (a) to allow seven foot flares using a D.O.T.

standard 6050 driveway in lieu of 15 foot radii and allow the minium distance

between the driveway radius and adjacent intersection radius to be ten feet in

lieu of the required twenty feet and authorizing to issue a commercial permit

to 1951 - 8th Avenue with said variances.
