A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH COLUMBUS CYCLING CLUB
WHEREIN COLUMBUS CYCLING CLUB WILL BUILD , MAINTAIN AND PROVIDE MOUNTAIN BIKING
TRAILS AND CLASSES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE COLUMBUS, PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT FOR THE PROMOTING OF THE SPORT OF MOUNTAIN BIKING. whereas, Columbus Cycling Club is going to provide labor, materials and all associated
costs of renovating an existing bicycle trail at Flat Rock Park; and,
whereas, The Columbus Cycling Club has held several town hall meetings to discuss this
issue with interested participants and the City; and,
WHEREAS, Columbus Cycling Club has done various background studies to
determine the appropriate manner in which to renovate the trail; and,
WHEREAS, the trail will bring a new and invigorated use to Flat Rock
Park that will provide a new and exciting user group to our community; and,
WHEREAS, entering into this Memorandum of Understanding will be at no
cost to the City and as per the MOU, all maintenance and cleaning of the trail
will be handled by the Columbus Cycling Club.
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a Memorandum
of Agreement with Columbus Cycling Club wherein Columbus Cycling Club will
build, maintain, and provide mountain biking trails and classes in partnership
with the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department for the promoting of the
sport of mountain biking.
