A Resolution Authorizing THE INVOCATION OF EMINENT DOMAIN TO ACQUIRE PROPERTY ON CHESTERFIELD AVENUE.
COLUMBUS HOUSING INITIATIVE, INC., WISHES THE CITY TO INVOKE EMINENT DOMAIN TO
CLEAR TITLE TO SAID PROPERTY. THE COLUMBUS HOUSING INITIATIVE, INC., AGREES TO
REIMBURSE THE CITY FOR ANY COST. SAID PROPERTY IS LOCATED IN COLUMBUS,
MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GEORGIA, TAX MAP PARCEL 049-009-006 A/K/A 602 CHESTERFIELD
AVE. whereas, Columbus Housing Initiative, Inc. has requested the assistance of the
Consolidated Government in acquiring the parcel; and,
whereas, it is in the public interest of the Consolidated Government of Columbus,
Georgia and Columbus Housing Initiative, Inc. to condemn the parcel located at
602 Chesterfield Ave. for the redevelopment of the neighborhood; and,
WHEREAS, Columbus Housing Initiative, Inc., will reimburse the
Consolidated Government for all cost associated with the condemnation and
transfer of said property to Columbus Housing Initiative, Inc..
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to acquire the property
through condemnation, to clear titles and declare said property described
above as surplus, advertise and transfer said property to the Columbus
Housing Initiative, Inc.
