A Resolution Authorizing TO DECLARE 0.061 ACRES OF A REMNANT (PARCEL 4R) OF THE ST. MARY'S ROAD WIDENING
PROJECT AS SURPLUS AND EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM DEED TO HUGH MCMATH INVESTMENT
COMPANY TO PURCHASE SAID PROPERTY. whereas, the St. Mary's Road Right of Way Plans indicate a need to acquire right of way
leaving some properties as uneconomic remnants, and;
whereas, as described in the City Charter Sec. 7-501(4), Hugh McMath Investment Company
being the adjoining property owner (parcel 3) to the uneconomic remnant parcel
(4R) as depicted on attached right of way plan and Plat dated 17 June 2005,
titled Right of Way Survey for COLUMBUS CONSOLIDATED GOVERNMENT Part of Land
Lot 100, Coweta Reserve Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, 0.061 acres
(attached), upon request, is entitled to said property, and;
WHEREAS, said uneconomic remnant serves no useful purpose to the Columbus
Consolidated Government, as it stands, and it is considered in the best
interest of Columbus, Georgia to Quit Claim same to Hugh McMath Investment
Company for the fair market value of the same amount the City paid them for
needed property for the road widening project, to be paid to the City upon
execution of Quit Claim Deed.
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to declare 0.061 acres of a
remnant (Parcel 4R) of the St. Mary's Road Widening Project property at 3204
Buena Vista Road as surplus and execute a Quit Claim Deed to the adjacent
property owner, Hugh McMath Investment Company, to purchase said property -
St. Mary's Road Project STP-8038-(7).
Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held the _________ day of _____________ and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of _____________ members of said Council.
