A Resolution Authorizing A VARIANCE TO THE SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS, ORDINANCE 82-26, SECTION IV (C-8b)

TO ALLOW A DISTANCE LESS THAN 800 FEET BETWEEN INTERSECTIONS ALONG ARTERIAL

STREETS FOR A PROPOSED PUBLIC STREET ACCESSING 7470 VETERANS PARKWAY. whereas, the owners are developing and improving the property at 7470 Veterans Parkway

as a commercial development; and,
whereas, the developer proposes to serve this property with a new deeded public street;

and,
WHEREAS, the distance from the proposed new street centerline to Kayne Court to

the north will be 395 feet and the distance to North Lake Parkway to the south

will be 1,263 feet; and,

WHEREAS, the developer provided the proposed design to the Georgia Department

of Transportation and received their concurrence with appropriate Council

variance; and.

WHEREAS, the Traffic Engineer has investigated the request and recommends the

variance be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That a variance is hereby authorized to the Subdivision Regulations, Ordinance 82-26, Section IV (C-8b) to allow a distance 395 feet between the proposed public street intersections and Kayne Court along arterial streets for 7470 Veterans Parkway.


Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held the 3rd day of September, 2002 and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of members of said Council.
