A Resolution Authorizing A VARIANCE TO ORDINANCE NO. 02-85 , SECTION 18-53 OF THE COLUMBUS CODE FOR
SPRING HARBOR AT GREEN ISLAND. whereas, Spring Harbor at Green Island , a Continuing Care Retirement Community, was
developed prior to the establishment of the Unified Development Ordinance; and,
whereas, Spring Harbor has requested the Department of Engineering initiate a variance
to the Columbus Code such that the residents be authorized to use private
street addresses; and,
WHEREAS, Spring Harbor residents will utilize 100-4000 Spring Harbor Drive for
the Main Residential Building and Health Centers and 10 thru 56 Spring Harbor
Circle for the Individual Garden Villas; and,
WHEREAS, Spring Harbor residents will utilize 100 Spring Harbor Drive followed
by the apartment number for the Main Residential Building and 200 Spring Harbor
Drive followed by the apartment number for the Health Center as addressing for
the 911 database, telephone billing; and,
WHEREAS, Spring Harbor has policies and procedures in place with staff
available 24 hours and day, 7 days a week to facilitate Public Safety Personnel
in locating residents and are made a part of this variance request; and,
WHEREAS, Spring Harbor will provided all the required street and directional
signage and has all the necessary public road frontage and access to all public
services.

That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve for a variance to
Ordinance 02-85 of the Columbus Code to allow the use of private street
addressing that is unique to the facilities at Spring Harbor at Green Island.
