A Resolution Authorizing APPROVAL OF THE SHORT TERM WORK PROGRAM UPDATE TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. whereas, Growth Strategies legislation enacted by the Georgia General Assembly mandated

that each of Georgia?s 159 counties and cities prepare a Comprehensive Plan;

and
whereas, the Columbus Consolidated Government prepared their plan in 1993 and has

completed the required five year update; and
WHEREAS, by this resolution, the Columbus Consolidated Government

certifies that every effort including an advertised public hearing, held June

19, 2003, was made to involve local citizens? input within the update of this

plan; and



WHEREAS, the update of the Columbus, Georgia Comprehensive Plan meets

the Minimum Planning Standards and Procedures,

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the Columbus Council, acting on behalf of the Consolidated Government of

Columbus, Georgia, does hereby amend the Short Term Work Program of the

Comprehensive Plan for the City of Columbus.
