A Resolution Authorizing TO DECLARE 692 +/- ACRES OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY NEAR THE WEST END ON THE NORTH
SIDE OF RIVER BEND ROAD IN CHATTAHOOCHEE COUNTY, GEORGIA, AS SURPLUS AND
AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SAID PROPERTY IN MUSCOGEE, COUNTY GEORGIA. whereas, the property located in Chattahoochee County consisting of 692 +/- acres
located in the southwestern portion of Chattahoochee County near the west end
of River Bend Road, on the north side of this road has been in the possession
of the City since 1996; and,
WHEREAS, the 692 +/- acres is the property remaining after the transfer of
property to Fort Benning for the Muscogee Tech Park; and,
whereas, the fair market value of the property is $554,000 and will be transferred by
Quit Claim Deed; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Consolidated Government of Columbus,
Georgia to sell City owned property in Chattahoochee County, Georgia, a/k/a Tax
Map #002-0002, as surplus property.
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to declare City owned property
identified as "City of Columbus property 692 +/- acres near the west end of
River Bend Road, on the north side of this road a/k/a Tax Map #002-0002," as
surplus and authorize the sale and advertisement of said property.
1. The following condition will apply: "The roadway has an 80 ft.
right-of-way width, which should allow for any necessary utility easements or
access to the river in the future. The roadway is not part of the property to
be conveyed..
2. The property will be transferred by Quit Claim Deed.
