A Resolution Authorizing A VARIANCE TO THE SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS, CITY CODE SECTION 18A-33, PARAGRAPH
(B) TO ALLOW FOR STREET WIDTHS OF 29 FEET BACK OF CURB TO BACK OF CURB INSTEAD
OF 31 FEET AND PARAGRAPH (E) TO ALLOW AN "EYEBROW" STYLE CUL-DE-SAC TO BE USED
WHERE THE CENTER LINE DEFLECTION ANGLE IS MORE THAT FIVE (5) DEGREES, INSTEAD
OF A CIRCULAR CURVE FOR REESE ROAD SUBDIVISION. whereas, the Donald Bowles Inc. is developing Reese Road Subdivision and improving the
property along Reese Road; and,
whereas, the proposed roadway design provides for street widths of 29 feet back of curb
to back of curb instead of the required 31 feet; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed roadway design has a right angle turn with a center line
deflection angle of more than five (5) degrees for Road "C"; and,
WHEREAS, an "Eyebrow" style cul-de-sac with a right angle turn is proposed
instead of a circular curve; and,
WHEREAS, the Traffic Engineer has investigated the request and recommends the
variance be approved based on the limited number of lots and short block
lengths.
THAT A VARIANCE IS AUTHORIZED TO THE SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS, CITY CODE
SECTION 18A-33, PARAGRAPH (B) TO ALLOW FOR STREET WIDTHS OF 29 FEET BACK OF
CURB TO BACK OF CURB INSTEAD OF 31 FEET AND PARAGRAPH (E) TO ALLOW AN "EYEBROW"
STYLE CUL-DE-SAC TO BE USED WHERE THE CENTER LINE DEFLECTION ANGLE IS MORE THAT
FIVE (5) DEGREES, INSTEAD OF A CIRCULAR CURVE FOR REESE ROAD SUBDIVISION.
