A Resolution Authorizing SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A

JOINT LAND USE STUDY FOR FORT BENNING whereas, the Columbus Consolidated Government recognizes that the continued operation of

Fort Benning is important to the regional economy and that its future

operational capacity should be protected; and,
whereas, Fort Benning is interested in preparing a Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) to

coordinate future planning efforts of its operations and surrounding local

governments; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

1. That the Columbus Consolidated Government agrees to participate in

the development of a JLUS for Fort Benning and the surrounding area; and,



2. That the Columbus Consolidated Government agrees to appoint a

representative to the JLUS policy committee; and,



3. The Columbus Consolidated Government commits to a good faith effort

to implement any recommendations included in the JLUS.
