A Resolution Authorizing THE SUPPORT FOR COLUMBUS HOUSING INITIATIVE, INC., A 501c3 COMMUNITY HOUSING

DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION TO APPLY FOR A YOUTHBUILD GRANT. whereas, Columbus Housing Initiative, Inc. has had affordable housing as its focus since

its inception; and,
whereas, the Youthbuild grant in the amount of $400,000 will provide an opportunity for

40 Columbus youth to participate in learning the job skills necessary for a

career in home building; and,
WHEREAS, Columbus Housing Initiative, Inc., anticipates the youth building 4

homes over a thirty month period ; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Columbus recognizes that the Columbus Housing Initiative,

Inc., has developed and maintains the capacity to fulfill the Youthbuild grant

requirements.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the Columbus Consolidated Government endorses and supports the

Youthbuild application being submitted to the Department of Housing and Urban

Development by the Columbus Housing Initiative, Inc.
