A Resolution Authorizing THE EXECUTION OF A DEED OF GIFT TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, FOR AN EASEMENT ON

CITY PROPERTY CONSISTING OF 1.12 ACRES (10 FEET WIDE X 5280 FEET IN LENGTH)

AROUND THE FORT BENNING INSTALLATION IN COLUMBUS, MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GEORGIA. whereas, the Federal Government wishes to construct a fence to have access control

points in and around the Fort Benning installation; and,
whereas, the City has no present or future use for said portions of the easements; and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined the City will donate said property and the

Federal Government will bear all cost associated with the construction and

maintenance of the fence.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the City Manager is hereby authorized by the Council of Columbus, Georgia

to execute a deed to the Federal Government for the access of the easements in

and around the1.12 acres (10 foot wide x 5280 foot in length) portion of the

Cities right-of-way and file said deed with the Clerk of Superior Court for

permanent record.
