A Resolution Authorizing THE TRANSFER OF 4.35 ACRES +/- OF CITY PROPERTY TO THE MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL
DISTRICT AND THE ACCEPTANCE OF 4.38 ACRES +/- FROM THE MUSCOGEE SCHOOL DISTRICT
TO THE CITY PURSUANT TO COLUMBUS CHARTER, SECTION 7-501 (4) OF THE CITY CODE. whereas, replacement property was acquired in order to re-align the boundary lines to
fit into the joint development by the City of a recreational area and a new
school site being developed by the School District; and,
whereas, the property will be transferred with the understanding that should the
property no longer be used for the purpose of a school site, the ownership of
the property will revert to the City; and,
WHEREAS, that the Muscogee County School District will construct a school on
the property; and,
WHEREAS, the replacement property must be conveyed in accordance with Section
7-501 (4) of the City Code.
That the Mayor and/or the City Manager is hereby authorized to:
1. Declared as surplus (4.35 acres as identified in the attached Plat
as Tract D-2),
2. Transfer said property to the Muscogee County School District,
3. Accept the property (4.38 acres as identified on the attached Plat
as Tract D-3) from the Muscogee County School District; and,
4. The filing of a Quit Claim Deed with Revisionary Clause property
transferred from the City of Columbus and the filing of a Warranty Deed
from the Muscogee County School District with the Clerk Superior Court.
