A Resolution Authorizing THE AMENDMENT OF RESOLUTION NO. 289-03 AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF CITY
PROPERTY CONSISTING OF 1.12 ACRES (10 FEET WIDE X 5280 FEET IN LENGTH) AROUND
THE FORT BENNING INSTALLATION TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AMENDED TO PROVIDING AN
EASEMENT CONSISTING OF 1.12 ACRES (10 FEET WIDE X 5280 FEET IN LENGTH) AROUND
THE FORT BENNING INSTALLATION whereas, Resolution No. 289-03 provides the City will donate by deed of gift said
property to the Federal Government with an easement for construction of a fence
and to have access control points in and around the Fort Benning installation;
and,
whereas, it has been determined the City will execute an easement and retain ownership
to said property and the Federal Government will bear all cost associated with
the construction and maintenance of the fence.
That the Council of Columbus, Georgia hereby amends Resolution No. 289-03 to
provide an easement to the Federal Government for access in and around the 1.12
acres (10 foot wide x 5280 foot in length) portion of the city's right-of-way
with the City retaining ownership in said property.
