A Resolution Authorizing THE SUBMITTAL OF THE EAST HIGHLAND REVITALIZATION PLAN, IN COLUMBUS, MUSCOGEE

COUNTY, GEORGIA TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) FOR

APPROVAL. whereas, the area known as East Highland Revitalization is a predominately residential

area of the City; and,
whereas, the East Highland Revitalization area is an area in overall decline; and,

WHEREAS, the City facilitated the development of this plan with the residents

and other stakeholders within the community; and,
WHEREAS, the approval of the East Highland Revitalization Plan will allow

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to be expended in the area; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest for the Columbus Consolidated Government to

improve, re-establish and enhance the East Highland neighborhood.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the Council hereby adopts the East Highland Revitalization Plan in order

to work with the East Highland residents to revitalize their neighborhood.
