A Resolution Authorizing THE SUBMISSION AND ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $59,400 FROM THE

GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF HIGHWAY SAFETY AND TO AMENT THE MULTI-GOVERNMENTAL FUND IN

THE AMOUNT APPROVED FOR THE GRANT. whereas, the Governor's Office of Highway Safety mission is to educate the public on

traffic safety and facilitate programs that reduce the number of crashes,

injuries and fatalities on Georgia's highways; and,
whereas, the Urban League is applying for a grant in the amount of $59,000 to promote

programs that increases overall child restraint usage, reduce youth

alcohol/drug related crashes/injuries/fatalities; and increase seat belt

usage. Columbus Consolidated Government will be the fiscal agent and no

matching monies are required.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an application and

accept a grant in the amount of $59,400 from the Governor's Office of Highway

Safety and amend the Multi-Governmental Fund in the amount approved for the

grant.
