A Resolution Authorizing THE PURCHASE OF PROPERTY BEHIND (RIVER SIDE) OF FIELDCREST CANNON, INC., FROM

12TH STREET TO 14TH STREET IN COLUMBUS, MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GEORGIA. whereas, Uptown Columbus is willing to transfer the property as needed for a "River

Walk" behind Fieldcrest Cannon, Inc.; and,
whereas, the City needs the property from 12th Street to 14th Street for the

construction of a "River Walk" along the Chattahoochee River; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Consolidated Government of Columbus,

Georgia to purchase said property.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the City Manager is hereby authorized to purchases property located behind

the Fieldcrest Cannon, Inc. for construction of a "River Walk" from 12th Street

to 14th Street along the Chattahoochee River with the value of said property

being determined to be $72,500 and file a Deed with the Superior Court Clerk

for permanent record.
